Ph Down will reduce the alkalinity of aquarium water, always pre-mix this product  in a separate container first with some water from your aquarium.

Then add to your aquarium in small increments, test the ph after adding a small amount of the pre-mixed ph-Down.

Reducing the alkalinity should be done over a period of several hours.

Reduce the Ph of your aquarium water slowley as fish do not like sudden Ph changes.
